  • Why are some class so inexpensive?
    The class times and prices are set up by the City of LA Parks and Recreations, and has receive a Government grant to promote Olympic sports, this enable the Parks and recreation program is able to offer you High Class Instructor. Through this government subsidize the classes are only $10 a session for 8 weeks (duration is subject to change) for one class a week. T This will required you to create an account on their secure website. To pay and sign up, please go to Baldwin Hills Recreation Center or Jim Gilliam Recreation Center Independent Lessons, Private lessons, or Group Private Lessons are held by the Instructor and at her expense. All the proceeds for independent session go to directly for the development of her studio space.
  • What are your Covid Requirements?
    If you are taking the class at on the of the Recreation Centers, then the Covid protocols are under the City of LA Requirements. Anyone 12 and over must be vaccinated to enter in the premises. When training social distance will be implemented until cleared by the City of LA.
  • Where do I go to Sign Up for Classes?

  • Which Type of Karate do you teach?
    HTO (HighTower Omega Karate) teaches the primary traditional Karate systems. HTO is apart of Jinen Kai International (https://www.jinenkai.org/), which has development a training program that incorporates Shotokan, Shito Ryu, and combines it with its own Shindo Jinen-Ryu style of Karate. The history of the Japan Karate-Do Jinen-Kai is rooted in the foundations of the Shindo Jinen-Ryu style of Karate that was founded by Yasuhiro Konishi (1893-1983) in October 1933. This is an eclectic style incorporating elements of traditional Karate (primarily from the Shotokan and Shito Ryu styles), Aikido and Jujitsu; with emphasis on the founder's philosophy of "Ken Zen Ichinyo," "The Mind and Body are ONE."
  • Does the Child/Teen need a uniform?
    Yes, but not right away. This is a complete program that all students will be ab to obtain a Black Belt or high Degree that is nationally recognized. Therefore, have a Gi is a must for testing, promotion, competitions, and training. The first 4 sessions it is not required, get a feel for it first, and then if the environment is right, we will get the uniform.
  • Do you provide Private Lessons?
    Yes! We have a variety of Private lessons to choose from. Due to the City of LA scheduling the dates at the times, we see the need to offer more for the sake of the development of the child or teen. There are one-on-one, groups of three, basic training, Olympic prep, and others available. Please go to the Programs section.
